Dustcovers are a printed, laminated paper sheet that folds around the cover of a hardcover book. Sometimes called a dust jacket, book jacket, dust wrapper or dust cover.
When used on Photobooks, the dustcover usually matched the book's cover almost exactly, with one exception; The dustcover has flaps which fold into the book. These flaps can have their own artwork, or can be left unprinted.
If you'd like a dustcover for your photobook, we recommend designing the book on our new website rapid.studio, or using iPhoto to design the book. Our website and iPhoto provide options to design the flaps to match the cover of the photobook.
The dustcover is trimmed and folded precisely to fit your book, so it's important that you order the dustcover with the photobook, so check that the appropriate option shows in your cart when you check-out.
If you've designed in the RapidStudio software, there isn't an option to create / design a dustcover, or flaps. If we receive this kind of artwork and you've selected to receive a dustcover, we will leave the flaps unprinted, so the flaps that fold into the book will be plain white.
